holiday cheer

Happy Holidays everyone!

I have been super into Christmas this year and I am eagerly awaiting everyone's faces when they open their presents.  I have wrapped all of the gifts and put them under the tree and I am getting impatient like a small child for the big day...

Our holiday tradition is for the family to have a fondue dinner on Christmas Eve and then exchange gifts from one another. And this year I am super antsy for this special evening, as I feel I've got awesome presents for my whole family (plus I get to be Santa for Theo!)

Since I am dying to tell them about their presents (but won't) I will just list them here:

  • Dad - a sweatshirt that says "Nonno" and a deck of cards with an adorable picture of Theo (it also says Merry Christmas Nonno) things that say "Nonno" are rarely found, so I hit the jackpot
  • Mom - incense, a special journal to capture her most hilarious moments, and a deck of cards with another cute picture of her grandson
  • Sister - the newest Richelle Mead novel and a flower car magnet
  • Brother - practical joke set and gift certificates for 10 hours on my Xbox 360
  • Theo - a toddler race car set and a moose pillow pet
  • From Santa Claus - a play tent with a tunnel, a bounce and spin zebra, a toddler basketball hoop, a hammering toy,
  • Theo's Stocking - more balls for his gumball machine, a mini chuck car, and this neat sock/shoe combo called Skidders
Maybe I went a bit overboard when I shopped for Theo this year, but I bought these things little by little since the summer, and when I finally got everything together, I was a bit shocked, but I still have trouble going through a store without finding another thing he would love. I've cut myself off tho. So has my shrinking bank account, heehee. But I did get incredible deals on everything.

My favorite shopping deal was back in September or October when there was a grand reopening of the Babies R Us/Toys R Us store nearby. Not only were there tons of characters for Theo to hug (namely Brobee and Geoffrey Giraffe) but there were also crazy sales including this gem: Fisher Price Infant Toys: Buy 2, Get 3 Free. I thought, seriously??! So my mom and I each picked out five toys and just like that major birthday and christmas shopping was done. When we got to the cashier, it turned out that the sale was supposed to be Buy 2, Get the 3rd Free, and they promptly took down the signs, but honored the deal for us. Score!

I hope everyone else has had successful shopping and are looking forward to their holidays!
