favorite week of the year

I have always loved the week between Christmas and New Year's.  Usually, when I have a job, I get this week off and see lots of friends. This year, I don't have many plans, actually I've been in hibernating mode lately. I need to snap out of it and have more fun.

Obligatory christmas gift list: (things I got! )

  • Xbox 360 Wireless Adapter (and therefore Netflix!!!)
  • A gift certificate to a swimming class for Theo (and me) at the local Y
  • A Rice cooker (with vegetable steamer attachment)
  • New comfy pjs
  • Apples to Apples
  • Framed adorable pics of Theo
  • Christmas candy galore

Theo was sick on Christmas morning and I was so disappointed because he was completely disinterested in the presents (and the fact that I stayed up so late assembling it all).  But after some tylenol and breakfast, he was loving the tent and his favorite toy seems to be the racetrack. Success!

I am loooooving Netflix. My only complaint is half of the things I want are only on DVD.

I need to get out and do something today! Is anyone else experiencing post-Christmas laziness?!

  1. Yeah. The holiday hangovers hit harder when you have children, it seems [or at least for me]. And hibernate mode is another mom thing. Boo. Just go out and do stuff. You and Theo should go see a movie, or go to an indoor playground, or go visit friends and family. Even just a walk. I made the mistake of being home almost 24/7 Alexandria's first year, and it drove me crazy. Mommy blues are really hard to deal with, so go go go! Merry christmas and happy new years. =]

  2. Thanks! I did wind up taking him out in the snow for a while and it was good to get out!
